Position Overview
A local public works agency is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to perform a variety of professional engineering projects and tasks relative to transportation and roads.
This position involves reviewing technical reports, monitoring construction projects, providing engineering support, and supervising staff. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, solid knowledge of civil engineering principles, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, modify, and design programs and systems, including approving contractor and consultant deliverables
- Provide engineering support on new programs and infrastructure systems and monitor and analyze data
- Inspect plans to determine compliance with design specifications
- Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction submittals
- Supervise professional staff, including performance evaluations, training, and scheduling
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited engineering program
- 3+ years of professional engineering experience
- Tennessee Professional Engineering License required
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles, MUTCD and AASHTO standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $85,267 – $127,901 annually, commensurate with experience

Work Environment
