Job Summary:
We are looking to employ multiple Building and Grounds Technicians with knowledge of residential and commercial lawn and landscaping trades, cleaning procedures and grounds maintenance, as well as minor building maintenance. A Building and Grounds Technician is expected to have excellent organizational and time management skills. You will display natural leadership and possess strong communication skills with a great eye for detail.

To ensure success, a Building & Grounds Tech should display a solid understanding of grounds maintenance, landscaping, minor building maintenance and cleaning. Top candidates will be fantastic at lawn care procedures and have knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Grounds maintenance 
    • Pick up all trash
    • Mow and weedeat property(s)
    • Trim or replace bushes and trees to keep off properties, driveways, etc. 
    • Blow off all hard surfaces
    • Maintain parking lines 
    • Snow removal as needed, through salt spreading or scraping of hard surfaces. 
  • Maintenance Work orders
    • Observe and note potential issues that need to be addressed through a work order. 
    • Upon notification of work order, one would be assigned by Maintenance Management. 
      • Complete minor repairs (clearing parking lot drains, dumpster corral cleaning & minor repairs, deck cleaning & painting, etc)
      • Update Maintenance Supervisors or Building & Grounds manager  for additional support or status (complete or in progress) 
  • Building Envelope (preventive maintenance) 
    • Pressure wash siding, gutters, and hard surfaces. 
    • Replace exterior light bulbs on multifamily properties. 
    • Repair exterior damage and touch up paint when necessary (decks, breezeways, etc.)
  •  Other duties as assigned. 
Education and Training: One year of experience in lawn care; High School Diploma or GED

Skills and Abilities:
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work as a part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to operate machinery; to include zero turn mowers, power washers, skid steers, etc. 
  • Ability to drive Millan Enterprise vehicles and keep them maintained in good condition; must have valid drivers license

Physical Requirements:

Positions in this class typically required: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.

 

Compensation and Benefits: $16 - $18 hourly; Medical, vision, dental, 401k 4% match, PTO, major holidays
